Who We Are
Welcome to Suncoast Nature Society! We are a vibrant community of young adults in the Florida Suncoast who share a love for nature and a commitment to its conservation and restoration. Through fun social activities, educational programs, public service projects, and partnerships with local organizations, we aim to foster an appreciation for the natural world, inspire collective efforts to protect and rejuvenate our environment, and strengthen our local community through active engagement.

What We Do
We organize a diverse range of activities to cater to different interests and provide exciting opportunities to connect with nature and fellow enthusiasts. Our events include:
- Socialize: Connect with local nature enthusiasts in your age range, share experiences, and build lasting friendships. These gatherings offer a refreshing alternative to conventional nightlife, allowing you to meet others who share your passion for nature and outdoor adventures.
- Nature Walks: Embark on group walks through our local trails and state parks, identifying local flora and fauna and discussing their ecological roles.
- Stargazing Adventures: Explore the night sky with telescopes and guides, uncovering the mysteries of constellations and celestial events.
- Fossil Hunting Expeditions: Unearth ancient treasures on trips to local geological sites, learning about the history and science of fossils.
- Natural Springs Exploration: Discover unique ecosystems and geological formations while enjoying a refreshing dip in crystal-clear waters.
- Snorkeling Excursions: Dive into underwater adventures, exploring vibrant marine life and learning about ocean conservation.

Note on Trips to Florida State Parks and Annual Pass
Many of our trips will include visits to Florida's state parks, where you can explore diverse landscapes, enjoy outdoor activities, and connect with nature. Consider getting an annual pass for unlimited entry to all Florida State Parks, making it easier to join us for more adventures throughout the year. A Note on Inclement Weather
Florida’s weather can be quite unpredictable! While we’ll do our best to provide updates on event pages if we anticipate changes, please keep in mind that rain is always a possibility. If the rain is light and expected to pass quickly, we'll usually proceed with the event as planned. However, if the weather becomes too challenging, we may relocate to a nearby restaurant to keep the fun going!

Join fellow nature enthusiasts and a Sarasota Bay Explorers-trained marine biologist on this two-hour cruise and learn about the lifestyle and behavior of our local population of over 160 bottlenose dolphins, as well as manatees. The guide explains their hunting techniques, physical adaptations, and social hierarchy, plus you learn of the effects brought on by humankind and what is being done to protect this magnificent mammal.Event Details:

Step back in time and experience the magic and adventure of the Middle Ages! Join us as we explore the Sarasota Medieval Fair, where an enchanting village comes to life with thrilling jousting tournaments, lively entertainment, artisans, and delicious medieval-style food and drink. Connect with fellow nature and history lovers in their 20s and 30s as we stroll through colorful vendor rows offering unique, handmade goods, and immerse ourselves in interactive performances, historical reenactments, and hands-on demonstrations.Event Details:
