Join others in the neighborhood for a weekly meditation to find inner peace, feel refreshed for the new week and create spiritual community in Sunset Park. David will guide us through Zazen meditation and teach some of the practices of Zazen.
Zazen is a traditional Japanese meditation practice rooted in Zen Buddhism. It emphasizes stillness and focuses on posture and breathing to support awareness. Our session will begin with an overview of the posture and techniques, after which we'll practice in gradually increasing intervals—starting with 1 minute, followed by a brief discussion, then 2 minutes, and so on. During breaks, we'll share experiences and address any questions or insights that arise from the practice.
We will sit on the grass in the north corner field of Sunset Park, feel free to bring a blanket to sit on.
