REPEATED Recognising and correcting Sensory Overwhelm

Details

Please note change of time and venue due to me having another appointment this day. Thank you for your understanding

My only ask is to bring a $2 coin donation and to remove yourself from an RSVP if you can no longer attend. Many thanks

This is based on a true story :D :D :D

Angela walked into the busy venue and was quickly overwhelmed by too many things at once. The bright light from the windows felt like it was burning her eyes, the cacophony of sound and the spatial disarray made her feel disoriented and trapped.

As her anxiety grew, she felt like she might lose control. Just when it seemed too much to handle, a few kind voices reached out to her. The noise began to soften, the room was organised into a semblance of sanity. Slowly, the chaos around her began to make sense again, and she found a sense of safety amidst the confusion and was very thankful for the co regulation.

Today, we delve into the phenomenon of sensory overload:

  • How the neurodiverse are particularly impacted by it
  • The profound impact it can have on us
  • How to identify its signs
  • The role of self and co-regulation in managing it
