What we’re about
This group is for adults new to Vermont and interested in meeting new people. We will meet for fun hikes, beach hangouts, meals, craft nights, talks around a fire pit, and anything suggested by members!

See all- Walk @ Shelburne FarmsShelburne Farms Visitors Center, Shelburne, VT
Let's "red line" Shelburne Farms! This route is four miles long and ribbons beside some of the farm's landmarks. We'll do a bit of exploring, but we do need to be mindful of their 5 p.m. closing time.
252 Club* Bag: Shelburne
WHAT TO EXPECT:
- The walkways may be littered with fallen leaves and pine needles, and to be muddy in spots, making them a little slippery. I highly recommend wearing trail shoes with a "grippy" sole (trail sneakers, hiking shoes or hiking boots).
- You may feel more comfortable if you have an extra light fleece or wind jacket tucked away; the wind off the lake can get chilly at this time of year.
- Arrive 10 minutes early to get ready; I always leave on time.
- We will explore at a "walk and chat" pace, and stick together.
- Dogs are not allowed on this property.
WHAT TO BRING:
- Water and a snack - we'll stop at the lake for a snack break
- A positive attitude :)
CANCELLATION: This event will be canceled if there are high winds, it is pouring rain, sleeting or lightening. Look at the comments for this event before heading to the farm. Bad weather date is Sunday, November 3th.
Just a reminder that meetup.com is a platform that allows us to get together without the assumption that event organizers or leaders are licensed, insured or experts. Although I have some walking experience, I am not an expert walker. I am simply providing an opportunity to have some fun. Do not expect I will keep you safe, have first aid supplies or know how to use them.
*What is the 252 Club? (Well, actually it's real name is the "251 Club," but a new town was recently added to the list.) It is a club that people join, touch all 251/2 townships in Vermont, and earn a certificate of completion. Peter and I are simply tracking the towns we touch on our own. Our rule is that we must do some type of activity in the town and then take a picture of ourselves (and anyone we did the activity with) near a sign or structure that is unique to the town.
