Welcome to the Milwaukee Wisconsin InvestHER Chapter! This group has been created to help women real estate investors local to Milwaukee Wisconsin meet, connect, and learn together and from one another!
MEET THE INVESTHER LEADER
Leah Murphy founded Jane Hotel Group in 2021 as a mission-driven hotel investment company looking for longer-term investment opportunities in the Midwest United States. Prior to forming Jane Hotel Group, Ms. Murphy held executive and senior leadership positions with Cushman & Wakefield's Hospitality and Gaming Valuation and Advisory Group, as well as with HVS Consulting and Valuation.
During her 14-year consulting career, Ms. Murphy underwrote various hospitality assets and land in excess of $12 billion in value. In addition to her valuation and advisory experience, she has nearly 7 years of operational experience in the hospitality industry, including hotels, restaurants, bars, and theme parks. Ms. Murphy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Hospitality Business Management and a Master’s in Business Administration from Washington State University.
Ms. Murphy is an adamant supporter of hospitality education through her involvement with the Washington State Alumni Association, the Castell Project, and historically as a guest lecturer at the Collins College of Hospitality Management at Cal Poly Pomona. She served on the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin Chapter of the Appraisal Institute between 2018 and 2021 and was a Designated Member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI) for more than 5 years.
Ms. Murphy currently resides in the Milwaukee area with her husband and two children and is a member of TEMPO Milwaukee and is a member of the Rising Leader Board for the non-profit PEARLS for Teen Girls. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, attending concerts/sporting events, and playing ice hockey.
