Inspired by the long-standing Ladies of Leisure SGG meetup, we are pleased to announce another Young'uns Walking Club stroll! Located in the Blue Mountains .

**DATE & TIME: Saturday, November 30th - meeting at *Grand Canyon Car Park at 11:30AM***

**MEETING POINT:** Grand Canyon Car Park. Keep an eye on the event chat if you get lost, and **please update your RSVP** if your plans change so we know if we should wait for you!

Grand Canyon is easy to get to via public transit by taking the train that arrives at Blackhealth at 10.37am. We recommend catching the 698 bus that **leaves Blackhealth station at 10:49am**, but note that this bus only operates every 3-4 hours, if you miss it there are taxis available that are advertised around Blackheath station or please contact us and we might be able to organise someone to pick you up.

If you are travelling from far, we encourage **carpooling** with other attendees. Please leave a comment if you would like a lift, noting your area, and if you are a driver nearby, consider offering to carpool! We could meet at the petrol station opposite Blackheath train station. This is one of the easiest ways to get there as the trains are frequent but the bus is not!

**THE WALK**: Round trip is about 6 kms (excluding the walk from the bus to the trailhead) and should take around 3 hours.

This is an enjoyable moderate track that ends with a long staircase, but still may be muddy at times, so wear comfortable shoes with good traction that you're not afraid to get a bit dirty. Instead of taking the stairs to complete the loop we will head back and repeat the path we arrived on as its more interesting.

**WHAT TO BRING**: As with most of our hikes, it's a good idea to bring lunch and a snack or something to eat to refuel along the trail, and 2 litres of water is recommended.

**WHAT TO WEAR**: Dress in breathable clothing according to the weather. Light layers and a hat are good to help regulate your temperature and protect from the UV and sunscreen is advised at this time of year.

We will keep an eye on the weather and leave updates in the comments closer to the date.

If it's your first time, make yourself known to one of the co-hosts (Anjali/Meredith) and we can introduce you to some friendly faces.

Young Un’s events are meant for friendly socialisation of gay/queer gals and nonbinary pals in their 20s to 30s, from all across our rainbow community.

**Who is a "gay gal"?**
Gay = anyone who falls under the LGBTQIA+ banner. While many of our attendees identify as lesbian, we welcome any who identify as gay, queer, bisexual, pansexual, asexual, questioning, and everything in between!
Gal = anyone who has lived experience as a woman and is comfortable being in a space labelled "gals". We are a Trans and gender-diverse friendly space! If you are trans, non-binary, or gender non-confirming please know that you are warmly welcomed in these events.

We organisers strive to make Sydney Gay Gals safe and welcoming for all members of the queer community. We encourage all attendees to show up with open minds and hearts, and to leave any prejudices at the door.

Swapping contact/social media info with someone you had a great conversation with is totally fine! You can also use the meetup messaging system to get in touch with with someone you have met at a meetup. Please ask in a kind, respectful way. Say something like: "is it OK if we swap numbers/social media to stay in touch?"

It's OK if you are not comfortable giving out your contact details. Remember, enthusiastic consent is the go - “If it's not an enthusiastic yes, then it's a no”. Please be kind, honest, polite and respectful!😊

Further, any unwelcome behaviour or language that is disrespectful, rude, aggressive, offensive/condescending, discriminatory, exclusionary/gatekeepy, any selling of pyramid schemes, illegal/dodgy products/services, forcing of ideas/opinions/beliefs will NOT be tolerated and will result in being removed from this meetup group.
