We offer a variety of outings tailored to different levels of outdoor experience. Whether you’re into mountain hiking, backcountry camping, multi days trekking, canoeing, road tripping, or simply discovering local trails, you will find activities that suit your skills and interest. Everyone is encourage to share their knowledge and expertise - whether it is setting up camp, navigating trails, or cooking over a campfire - So we will learn and grow together as a community.
Safety is our own responsibility. Each member plays a crucial role in ensuring not only their own well-being but also the safety of the entire group.
We encourage everyone to come prepared with the right gear, knowledge and skills for each outing. This means being aware of your limits, understanding trail conditions, and read the event description.

Waiver of Liability and Assumption of Risk
I, the undersigned participant, acknowledge that I am voluntarily participating in events organized by the event organizers/volunteers at The Adventure Valley. I understand that these activities involve inherent risks that may lead to injury, illness, or even death.
In consideration of my participation, I agree to the following:
- Assumption of Risk: I recognize that all events organized by the event organizers/volunteers carry risks including, but not limited to, physical injury, accidents, and adverse weather conditions. I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation in these events.
- Release of Liability: I hereby release, waive, and discharge the event organizers, its affiliated organizations, volunteers, and staff (collectively referred to as "the Organizers") from any and all claims for injury, death, or damages arising from my participation. This release applies to any claims caused by negligence or other acts of the Organizers.
- Agreement Not to Sue: I agree not to initiate any legal action or claim against the Organizers/volunteers for any injuries or damages incurred as a result of my participation in any events organized by The Adventure Alley.
- Indemnification: I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Organizers/volunteers against any claims made by other participants or third parties as a result of my actions during these events.
- Image consent: Your image may appear on either Facebook, Instagram or Meetup platforms as photos or video, please advise if you object to it being posted or it will be assumed that you’ve given full consent.
- Medical Emergency: In the event of a medical emergency, I authorize the Organizers to seek medical treatment on my behalf if necessary. I accept full responsibility for any related medical expenses.
- Governing Law: This waiver shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ontario.
By accepting to join The Adventure Valley group, I confirm that I have read this waiver in its entirety and fully understand its terms. I acknowledge that this is a binding legal document intended to protect the Organizers and their volunteers involved in facilitating these events.

Code of Conduct
To maintain a positive and enjoyable atmosphere for all members, we ask that everyone adhere to the following guidelines:
RSVP Policy:
- If you cannot attend an event, please remove your RSVP at least 72 hours in advance so that those on the wait-list have the opportunity to join.
- RSVP but no show is not acceptable.
- Failing to do so 3 times will result in permanent removal from the group.
Participation:
- Be present and engaged during events.
- Contribute positively by sharing ideas and supporting fellow members.
- Respect the time of others by being punctual.
Punctuality:
- Members are expected to arrive on time for all scheduled events.
- Those who arrive late for important activities may be left behind, and it will be the member's responsibility to make arrangements to catch up. Failure to do so may result in removal from the schedule for that event. Members must take full responsibility for accommodating their timetable and any associated expenses.
- Furthermore, failure to adhere to the established timetable will not result in any compensation or refunds.
Respectful Communication:
- Treat all members with kindness and respect.
- Listen actively and engage in constructive conversations.
- Avoid hate speech, personal attacks, or discriminatory remarks.
No Harassment:
- Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.
- This includes unwanted attention, stalking, or any inappropriate behavior.
- If you feel uncomfortable or threatened, please report it to the organizers.
Inclusivity:
- Embrace diversity and welcome individuals from all backgrounds.
- Be open to different perspectives and experiences.
- Ensure that everyone feels included in discussions and activities.
Safety First:
- Prioritize the safety of yourself and others during group activities.
- Follow any specific safety guidelines provided for events.
- Report any unsafe conditions or behavior to the organizers immediately.
Consequences for Violations:
- First Offense: A warning will be issued by the organizers.
- Second Offense: Permanent removal from the group at the discretion of the
organizers.
Conclusion
By joining The Adventure Alley, members agree to uphold these values and guidelines. Together, we can create a supportive community where everyone can thrive!

Welcome to The Adventure Alley's Inaugural Event!
We are excited to present a preview of the incredible experiences you can expect from us—combining breathtaking trails with local attractions.
This event consists of two parts: An exhilarating hike, followed by an exploration of the charming local attractions in Elora.
Hike Details:
- Distance: 15km to 18km
- Hike Speed: -4+ km/h
- Difficulty Level: Intermediate, with some areas involving technical climbing.
- Duration: We have allocated 5 hours for the hike.
- Dogs: Friendly dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash at all times.
- Transportation: Drivers wanted. They get priority on the list. We are using Poparide App to arrange carpool. If you are offering carpool, please post it on the comment section.
Please ensure you bring at least 1L of water and lunch/snacks for your personal needs. Hiking boots and Microspikes are mandatory for your safety, and I will check this before we proceed. Additionally, we recommend bringing hiking poles if you have them, as they can provide extra stability on the trails.
**Important Reminders:**
- Check the location the night before the event to ensure you have the most up-to-date information.
- For non-members, enjoy free day hikes for a 60-day trial. After the trial ends, it's just $2 per day hike to support the continued growth of our group! We encourage you to consider our annual membership, which covers both day hikes and provides all access to overnight trips and international travel events.
- If you are not on the "Going" list, please do not show up.
- Punctuality is crucial! We will wait for 5 minutes after the scheduled start time; if you arrive after that, we will proceed without you.
Additionally, we kindly ask you to review the waiver and code of conduct available on our group page prior to the event.

There will a *Social Gathering* following the hike, you are invited to join us for a social gathering that will include dinner and a festive walk to enjoy the Christmas lights. A separate RSVP will be required for this portion.

Get ready for an epic winter hiking trip in the breathtaking Adirondack Mountains! Join us for a weekend getaway to Keene Valley, New York, where we’ll explore stunning trails and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Distance: 17.5km (Loop)

Accommodation: Budget cabin with kitchen for 6 people (sharing 2 double beds and 2 twin beds), individual bunk beds available as well.

Itinerary:
- Friday: Take the day off work and leave Toronto early in the morning.
We’ll aim to arrive at our cozy cabin on Friday night.
- Saturday: Rise and shine for an epic hike ! We’ll start our adventure at
7 AM, so be prepared for a day filled with stunning views and chasing
waterfall.Essential Winter Hiking Gear
1. Clothing:- Base Layer: Moisture-wicking thermal tops and bottoms to keep you
dry. - Insulating Layer: Fleece or down jacket for warmth.
- Outer Layer: Waterproof and windproof jacket and pants to protect
against the elements. - Hat: Warm beanie or hat that covers your ears.
- Gloves: Insulated, waterproof gloves or mittens; consider glove
liners for added warmth. - Socks: Wool or synthetic socks (avoid cotton) for warmth and
moisture management.
2. Footwear:
- Hiking Boots: Insulated, waterproof boots with good traction.
- Gaiters: Optional, but helpful to keep snow out of your boots.
3. Equipment:
- Backpack: A comfortable daypack to carry your gear.
- Trekking Poles: Helpful for stability on snowy or icy trails.
- Micro spikes or Crampons: For added traction on icy surfaces.
4. Safety Gear:
- Headlamp/Flashlight: With extra batteries, in case you’re out after
dark. - First Aid Kit: Basic supplies for minor injuries.
- Map & Compass/GPS Device: Always good to have for navigation.
5. Hydration & Nutrition:
- Water Bottle/Thermal Flask: Insulated to prevent freezing; aim for
warm drinks if possible. Carry min. 1.5L of water/fluid. - Snacks: High-energy snacks like nuts, energy bars, or dried fruit.
6. Emergency Gear:
- Whistle: For signaling in case of emergencies.
- Emergency Blanket/Bivvy Bag: Lightweight and compact for warmth
if needed.
- Hot hands (1 pair) to heat your palm in extreme cold temp.
7. Optional Items:
- Sunscreen & Lip Balm: Protect your skin from UV rays, even in winter.
- Camera/Smartphone: To capture the stunning winter scenery!
