Glasgow Games Soapbox
Details
An evening of talks about games and game development.
We will have a small selection of speakers from in and out of the games industry sharing their wisdom. Expect talks to be around 30 minutes long.
Jordan Livermore - Content for Esports Tournaments
Jordan recently left BLAST Esports as Head of Content to pursue a freelance career. He'll be shining a light on the internal workings of an esports tournament as well as discussing why video marketing is such a critical aspect of these events.
Roelof Neuman - Wellbeing in Video games
Roelof has recently finished a masters in Serious Games at Glasgow School of Art and will be talking about how video games affect mental health both intentionally and coincidentally. He'll look at how playing any game can affect mental health, how serious games do so by intent and how isolated features of commercial games can affect mental health by themselves.
Other Info
Check out our previous talks on youtube here.
Doors open at 6 and there will be space for networking before and after. If you are interested in giving a talk at this event or future events please message the organisers.
Our host for this event will be Barclays who are allowing us to use their new building in Tradeston. Refreshments (drinks and pizza) will be provided.
There are usually a few people who head to the Laurieson, a pub, after the event. It's a lovely nostalgic venue, and in that spirit they don't take cards. So bring a £20 note with you if you fancy a drink after.
We expect all attendees to follow our code of conduct.
