The mission of Vt. Social Adventure group is to provide inclusive social opportunities for young adults with disabilities or social challenges that are based on principles of support, kindness, and compassion.
The group focuses on adults with disabilities and social challenges in Vermont who are interested in supportive, inclusive social opportunities.
The group offers:
- Opportunities to engage in social activities in person. Past events include art events, board games at a local site, special holiday parties, annual learn to fish event, trail walks and bike rides, and campfire s'mores events to name just a few. We also offer bi-weekly Zoom events to help everyone stay connected.
- Activities have an onsite event facilitator as well as a host. The on site facilitators is there to assist with details and unexpected issues that may arise, and also to ensure safety and compliance with our group's core principles.
- We offer multiple ways for supporting adults to be involved with the planning of group activities and encourage this to ensure we are most effective at meeting everyone's needs.
- In a variety of ways, we invite and seek out feedback from group members about how the group runs.
