Details

You can join us for an 8-mile hike with 1,300 feet elevation gain. This hike will take about 5 hours. We will meet in the upper lot near the “Visitor’s Center” at 9:00 AM at Lake Minnewaska parking, 5281 Route 44-55, Kerhonkson, NY 41.73531,-74.23892. The park opens at 9:00 AM. Recommend arriving at 8:30 AM to wait on line as the upper lot fills up. Otherwise, you might have to park in the adjacent lower parking, which requires an additional half-mile walk. Entry to park is $10 per car, free with the Empire Park Pass. We will follow the (R) Lake Minnewaska Carriageway along the eastern section of the lake where we will pick up a difficult section of the hike the (R) Millbrook Mountain Footpath. At Millbrook Mountain we will continue on the (R) Gertrude’s Nose Footpath to Gertrude’s Nose. We will continue on the (R) Gertrude’s Nose Footpath to the (Y) Millbrook Mountain Carriageway.
