What we’re about

Are you a Software Engineer or an Engineering Manager who believes there’s more to having tech skills?

Generally speaking, there are two main paths an engineer can take. One is to double down on technology and become a master of the craft. The other is to focus on becoming a master of people.

Managers, especially in engineering, often transition from engineers or developers into management without proper support, training, or role models. There might be books and a few other sources, but there should also be a physical space to share knowledge amongst peers.

We want to offer that space.

This is a series of events for Senior Software Engineers, Tech Leads, Team Leads, Engineering Managers, Directors, VPs, CTOs, or those who aspire to be!

We will explore the topic of what it means to manage engineers well.

Everything is open to discussion: from hiring, scaling teams, managing people and expectations, understanding career progressions and engineering growth plans, coaching and mentoring, effective 1:1s and difficult conversations, conducting performance evaluations, or setting up new processes.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our esteemed main partner, the e-leadership MBA program at Algebra, for their unwavering support and their recognition of the invaluable contribution our initiative makes to the tech community interested in management.
