What we’re about
Do you enjoy playing board games and looking for a place to find others that also enjoy playing? At Cole Street Game Vault in Enumclaw, WA we have several opportunities to meet up with others in the same boat!
All of our meet ups are open to everyone at any skill level. When we post in the event we'll note if we suggest watching a quick video tutorial of the game prior to attending or if the goal is a casual play group!
We get together every week on Monday evenings. The first week of every month is an Intro To Gaming series where we teach entry-level board games that use the building block mechanics that more complex games use, so new gamers can progress more into the hobby. The last Monday of every month is our Heavy Lifter's Club where a complex strategy game is chosen from our game vault for those members who'd like a chance to play a harder game they've never gotten a chance to, and to meet other gamers with a similar mindset when it comes to playing heavyweight games.

In Chemical Overload, the current Master Alchemist is set to retire, but has been preparing for this by training his apprentices for years. Sure, the Academy of Alchemy has been pretty brutal so far, but the end of the road is near. The final exam is going to be rough, but it’ll be worth it, if you manage to rise above your fellow students and win the title of Master Alchemist!
At the end of the final exam, you’ll be judged on the quality of your potions, which can be measured by how many Alchemy Points you’ve managed to accrue. Do this before the lab fills up with too many toxic fumes and the exam is called to a halt.
You and your fellow students will start with the same basic chemicals and flasks. You’ll be combining your chemicals with the flasks of the correct size to brew magical potions.
Each potion has its own effects and Alchemy Point values, and you’ll be able to use those potion’s effects throughout the game to help you gain more gold, alchemy points, more powerful chemicals, or even more powerful potions!
But some potions will also add to the amount of toxic fumes in the lab! There are several thresholds, that once passed, you’ll have to draw a toxin card and deal with those effects. So you’ll want to keep an eye on that track, because once the tracker hits the end of the meter, the test is over!
At the end of the final exam, the alchemist with the most Alchemy Points wins and is crowned the Master Alchemist!
Chemical Overload is a Deck Building game that has elements of tableau building as well. On your turn, you’ll have a hand of cards. Any flask cards in your hand can be played to the table and remain there until used to brew a potion. There are also potions that can be played to the table for ongoing effects.
As a bit of a twist on a classic deck building game, when a player gains new cards, such as new chemicals or a newly brewed deck potion, those cards go right on top of their draw pile. Any flasks or table potions gained can be placed immediately in the players tableau area. Players will be able to decide what unused cards in their hand they want to keep at the end of the round and which they want to discard, all with an eye on the cards they know they’ll be drawing next turn.
Chemical Overload is for 1-4 players and takes about 45-60 minutes to play. - Learn Area Control with Small WorldCole Street Game Vault, Enumclaw, WA

In Small World, players vie for conquest and control of a world that is simply too small to accommodate them all.
Designed by Philippe Keyaerts as a fantasy follow-up to his award-winning Vinci, Small World is inhabited by a zany cast of characters such as dwarves, wizards, amazons, giants, orcs, and even humans, who use their troops to occupy territory and conquer adjacent lands in order to push the other races off the face of the earth.
Picking the right combination from the 14 different fantasy races and 20 unique special powers, players rush to expand their empires - often at the expense of weaker neighbors. Yet they must also know when to push their own over-extended civilization into decline and ride a new one to victory!
On each turn, you either use the multiple tiles of your chosen race (type of creatures) to occupy adjacent (normally) territories - possibly defeating weaker enemy races along the way, or you give up on your race letting it go "into decline". A race in decline is designated by flipping the tiles over to their black-and-white side.
At the end of your turn, you score one point (coin) for each territory your races occupy. You may have one active race and one race in decline on the board at the same time. Your occupation total can vary depending on the special abilities of your race and the territories they occupy. After the final round, the player with the most coins wins. - Learn Re-roll & Lock and Follow Mechanic with Tiny Epic GalaxiesCole Street Game Vault, Enumclaw, WA

In Tiny Epic Galaxies each player controls a galactic empire, aiming to expand their influence by acquiring highly contested planets and increasing their cosmic armada. The game revolves around an innovative dice-rolling combo mechanic. The number of dice you roll is determined by the strength of your galaxy. Each die is engraved with symbols representing the various actions you can take, such as moving a spaceship, increasing your culture or energy resources, or advancing your political or economic influence over newly discovered planets.
Through careful planning, you must make the most out of your turn, taking the available actions in whichever order you consider most beneficial. But be careful, as each of your opponents can choose to follow each action you take by expending valuable resources. This means that it can always be your turn, even when it is someone else’s turn!
Players will colonize new planets throughout the game, thereby earning victory points and accumulating special abilities which they can activate for their galactic empire. Careful spending of resources will ensure the fastest growth of your empire, while allowing you to receive the biggest possible pay‐off from the actions you take.
Will your influence be enough to control the most powerful planets in the galaxy? Will you be able to meet your secret objective along the way? Will your empire stand victorious? - Learn Pick Up & Deliver with Mississippi QueenCole Street Game Vault, Enumclaw, WA
Video Tutorial: https://youtu.be/vMRDUW2PxFs?si=KdveAhq5UDNOvkmW
In this light, fun family game, players race their paddleboats down the Mississippi, picking up passengers along the way. But onboard coal supplies are limited, so each ship's acceleration and maneuvers must be carefully planned. Perhaps most interestingly, the twists and turns of the river are unknown at the start of the game, and are only revealed as ships progress downstream.
