- Watson's Bay to Rose Bay 10kms Hike - Beach Club, Food, Drinks. Grand Hike!!!Doyles on the beach, Sydney
Thanks all for joining in on MANLY BEACH TO SPIT BRIDGE hike... I'd almost forgotten how damn amazing that session is. As a group we've been traveling outside Sydney a bit, so let's stay with the local / Syd Harbour theme and do another 10 / 10 session with a very slick, cool bar.
WATSON'S BAY TO ROSE BAY has it all... it's a bush walk, it's a beach walk, it's a walk with ocean views and the best Syd Harbour pics you're going to snap. Who's in? Here's the timing in case you want to arrive while we're at THE BEACH CLUB (Join us at the 945am Hike Start, 1045am at Beach Club, or Noon Hike Start).
945am - WE HIKE FROM DOYLE'S @ WATSON'S BAY. We'll do the South Head Loop, and you'll even have time for a swim if you fancy.
1045am - ARRIVE, THE BEACH CLUB... Drinks. Food. Relax for an hour with gorgeous views. It's one of the best bars in Sydney.
12pm - WATSON'S BAY TO ROSE BAY HIKE.
2pm - ROSE BAY (APPROX) ARRIVAL. Ferries go to Circular Quay, back to Watson's Bay, or the 324/5 Bus heads to Edgcliff Station.There's a 915am Circular Quay ferry that stops at Rose Bay (leaving 9:28pm) then drops at Watson's Bay at 9:38am - I'll be on that. So, jump on that ferry, jump on at Rose Bay, (parking spots should be available that early if driving - please DIY research), or see you at Doyle's Watson's Bay right on the walking path as this is our starting point!
There's too much to write, but here's the quick version... we start at WATSON'S BAY and do the loop around HORNBY LIGHTHOUSE (Pic 2 below) - the entrance to Sydney Harbour... adding CAMP COVE BEACH, it's historic and fahkin' beautiful. Pics galore.
We won't need a rest at that point, but how can you not stop at THE BEACH CLUB? It's a legendary place.
At noon, we head through lovely VAUCLUSE and its heritage (and new) mansions to cross the (see pic) PARSLEY BAY BRIDGE (time to see it in person). We'll loop around NIELSEN PARK which heads straight into the stunning HERMITAGE NATIONAL PARK... ahhhhhhh the views. The homes. The little beaches (MILK BEACH - see pic). It's green, gorgeous, and full of Sydney's great energy.
We pop out in gorgeous ROSE BAY - we'll check out the dog friendly beach, have a perve at one of Sydney's most glam restaurants CATALINA, then finish directly at ROSE BAY WHARF.
FOUR RULES:
a) Be on time (ferries are busy on Sunday), or you'll be running to catch up;
b) Be fun, healthy, and bring good energy;
c) $10 cash or PayID
d) If you RSVP "yes" then show up. It's kind, ain't it? Plus I've made a reservation with my name on it - it's polite for the business owner as well.Safety wise, It's paved / it's trails / it's busy - it's a pretty cruisy hike / walk with not too much up / downhill - 10kms max. Of course you've done Bondi to Coogee... if you haven't done Watson's Bay to Rose Bay, you're going to have a new favourite in Sydney!
