I was fortunate a spot opened last Labor Day week. This campground is wonderful. Being amongst the pines in cooler weather with a good lake to Kayak, fish, hike was a blessing during this hot summer. Though RV spots are booked quickly tent camping is wonderful. The tent spots are really nice and asked if I could put my popup (tent on wheels) I was told no. During your stay you can travel into town which is very close to shop eat Etc. Pine Top is a half hour away and offers more to do. I really like State campgrounds because they have clean bathrooms and showers. Very safe with Rangers and camp hosts eager to answer your questions. If interested book your site soon before full. This is one of the first Lake campgrounds I've visited. Excellent on many levels. It has cabins, tent and RV spots for camping with hookups. Just two hours out of Tucson you can camp, kayak, hike, swim or birding. This park has no boating rentals and is a (BYOB) Bring your own boat. This will be on a Memorial Day weekend and should book up soon. I recommend if you're thinking about going book it! Cancellations are affordable and easy if you change your mind. Clean bathrooms and showers and a perfect campground for nest camping (sleeping bag, tent, toothbrush). You can check out the park at azstateparks.com and reserve there also. Started camping 2020 when you couldn't travel internationally. Picked up a used small Coleman popup and been fixing it up and exploring Arizona. Having the pleasure of joining other camping meetups which they do a wonderful job. For me to travel 4-5 hrs. for a weekend meetup is a challenge. We have some nice places within an 1-1.5 hrs. of Tucson and feel this has a place. Thank you, David
