There will be four delicious main courses to choose from: Thanksgiving Wellington Hand Pie, Sweet Potato Quinoa Cakes (GF) and Butternut Squash Pierogis.

Available sides will be Apple Sage Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy (GF), Loaded Mac & Cheese, Green Bean Casserole and Cranberry Citrus Relish.

And, last but not least, there will be four dessert options: Caramel Pecan Brownie Topped with Vanilla Ice Cream (GF), Pumpkin Pie, Pecan Pie and Caramel Apple Cheesecake.

**To secure your space:**

1. **Make a reservation on the [DC Vegan](https://www.dc-vegan.com/) website [here](https://tables.toasttab.com/restaurants/a3575f59-b1e6-49dd-934e-21cb80b98be0/findTime).** Navigate to November 24, and select the VSDC Thanksgiving Dinner **6pm** option. Enter your party size and other required information. **A $25 deposit per person will guarantee your space and will be applied to your bill.** (Since this is a VSDC celebration, seating may be with others attending the event, which will be held in the upstairs and downstairs dining rooms.) If the VSDC 6pm event is full you can make an earlier or later reservation for the same menu.
2. **RSVP here on Meetup too -** we need this to keep you updated about the event. (Please make sure your Meetup settings permit you to receive messages.) **RSVPing on Meetup will not guarantee you a space - you must reserve directly with DC Vegan as described above to secure a spot.**

VSDC Pre-Thanksgiving Dinner at DC Vegan

DC Vegan 

Please join the Veg Society of DC Book Club discussion of “Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH” by Robert C. O'Brien. This meeting will take place online, via zoom.

Mrs. Frisby, a widowed mouse with four small children, must move her family to their summer quarters, but her young son lies ill with pneumonia. The extraordinarily intelligent rats of NIMH devise a solution. Mrs. Frisby in turn renders them a great service.

To participate you must read at least half the book — and RSVP at least two days before the meeting. People who RSVP yes will get the details to join the discussion (a few days before the meeting). The details will not be posted on meetup.

If your children read the book they are welcome to join you on the zoom and participate in the discussion.

The VSDC Book Club began meeting online in March 2020 (previously we met in vegetarian restaurants in DC or nearby Maryland or Virginia). We read fiction and nonfiction in alternating months, about any topic.
