The Krampus invades Southtown!
Let's go check out the city's first ever Krampus Parade, organized on the behalf of Hermann Sons Hall!
December 5th is the eve of the Feast of St. Nicholas, aka Krampusnacht, in German Tradition! This all-ages event has been modeled after European gatherings that pay homage to a folkloric demon who punishes naughty kids at Christmastime. The event includes such open activities:
\*Traditional KrampusLauf (Krampus Walk) from Blue Star
to the Rathskeller Bar
\* Two Great Bands:
\- Opening \- Traditional German and Christmas music by the Beethoven Dance Band
\- Headline \- The Whale\, a world\-class jazz duo
\* Krampus vs. St. Nicholas - Acrobatic wrestling match
\* Photos with Krampus
\* Art, silent auction, & more
\* Celebrate in the authentic 113-year-old Rathskeller Bar

• WHAT TO BRING:
Depending on where you want to watch from, you may bring lawn chairs to sit during the parade or simply stand. Make sure to claim a spot as early as 6pm.

• IMPORTANT TO KNOW:
This is a free event! Where you park may vary in price range.
Post in the comments where you'll be located, as this is an open range area and the map is only meant to show the areas of the event.
The parade will go through the King William area and should be roughly 20 to 30 min. It will start from the Blue Star and finish out at the Rathskeller bar.
There's more themed activities following at Rathskeller if you choose to stay and participate in them.

This event's organization are accepting donations as well. Proceeds benefit the San Antonio Hermann Sons Home Association, home to the historic bowling lanes, rooftop garden, Rathskeller Bar, and ballroom.
