The event you have been waiting for is finally here! Please join me for cruelty-free delights and a chance to hang out with the most enlightened and interesting people in town -- who will be happy to sweeten your day. It is SO FUN to attend a party where an entire table is groaning under the weight of special treats and know that you can sample them all--especially this time of year. At this party, we experience how a diet free of meat, dairy and eggs is so not about deprivation!
I want to take November and December off, but I'm a sucker for alliteration, and 'December Desserts' has become a (non-religious) tradition with Eugene Veggies. So, we have this fun, and then we will get back to focusing on healthy-themed events in January. For those people who prefer sticking with WFPB, feel free to bring a WFPB dessert! There are plenty of WFPB treats to share and enjoy. Even a bowl of fruit would be a lovely dish to share.
WHO IS THIS PARTY FOR?: You of course! Also, I'd love to load up your young ones with sugar. There will be KID-friendly activities and some music. Should be a good time for all ages. Come one, come all, BRING FRIENDS and NEIGHBORS. Just keep your RSVP up to date please.
YOU BRING: A dessert dish to share. Make sure the dessert is free of meat, dairy and eggs. NOTE: If you want to bring an appetizer or other vegan dish instead of a dessert, that too would be a welcome addition to the party. (There's just so much sweet a person can take in.)
I'll share additional information about the event and what to bring the day before the event in an email.
ADDRESS and DIRECTIONS TO JJ's: I will send out an e-mail the day before, on December 14 with directions to my house and additional important information about this event. If you do not get that e-mail, send me a direct e-mail so we can by-pass Meetup.
NEW THIS YEAR: Nut Cracking Activity: Inspired by a discussion with Veggies at an event earlier this year, we will be remembering Dr. John McDougall with a giant bowl of nuts still in their shells, which I will supply. (More on Dr. McDougall in the email before the event.) Please bring your favorite nutcracker to share for those people who don't have a nutcracker. I'm excited to see all the designs.
DOGGIE DANCE: Cake, the young, happy Great Dane, will be on hand to drool over all the good smells, possibly lean/bump into you, and wave his tail. I'll have him on leash at the start of the party, but will likely let him off leash later as his excitement calms.
This is a fun party to celebrate a sweet life for all. I hope you will drop in and join us.
