Natural Lotion & Face Mask Making Class

Details

Want to learn how to make your own lotion/serum & face mask from scratch with an experienced teacher?

Lindsay has been teaching how to make personal-care products naturally since 2013, has worked with over 800 students, made a guest appearance on A&E's Storage Wars & has all 5-star reviews. Check them out on her website: http://www.soapmakingclassesandmore.com/reviews.

This class is all about giving you a fun, yet educational experience (I graduated with a Bachelor's in Education in 2006 and teaching is my passion!). You'll leave the class with 2 products (2-in-1 lotion/serum & face mask) customized by you for your skin type & with the ability to recreate your products at home & with the ability to tweak the recipe for yourself or to make some products for family & friends!

For up to 4 per class: The small-group setting allows for a more personal experience, so you can get the most out of the class.

Class minimum is just 1 person. If this date doesn't work for you, Lindsay does set up private classes for the same price & offers online classes as well.

$85/person

Discounts: (2-3 students booking together get $10 off, making the class $75/person; 4 students booking together get $20 off, making the class $65/person)

We will cover, using Lindsay's detailed, informational handouts:

  • the differences between natural products & store-bought ones, & why switching to natural products is better for your skin
  • how you can turn your lotion into a serum to target specific skin-care concerns like acne, wrinkles, etc.
  • the differences between oil-based & water-based lotions & what ingredients are a must & what ingredients are optional & customizable
  • how to create a safe product: why preservatives are needed, what type is the best to use & how to work with them effectively
  • the basic recipes & how to adjust & customize them based on your skin-care needs & personal preferences (ingredient, informational charts are provided so that you can choose which ingredients you'd like to work with based on your skin type & skin-care needs)
  • how to work with various serum additives like hyaluronic acid, silk amino acids, Vitamin E, etc. + clays & other dry ingredients
  • fragrance safety information (essential & fragrance oils)
  • what materials & equipment are needed
  • recommended online suppliers for small & bulk quantities

Then, you'll choose your ingredients using the ingredient, informational charts & make your own lotion/serum & face mask (4 oz of each), with Lindsay as your guide. The face mask can be made as a "dry" product or a "wet" product; the latter is the most popular as it is a ready-to-use paste-type mask.

After class, Lindsay will email you:

  • electronic copies of the class handouts & charts
  • links to her private videos of her making the products for you to refer back to, so that you have additional help at home for when you are ready to make them yourself (You can watch the videos as much as you want & even follow along as you are making the products at home)
  • many helpful links, depending on your needs (e.g. FDA labeling requirements for a business)

Where is this class & what do you need to bring?
This class is held right in Lindsay's kitchen and you will receive the address once you sign up. You don't need to bring anything to the class, unless there is a particular ingredient you'd like to work with, but Lindsay does provide everything needed with some options to choose from.

Her goals are for you to have fun learning something new & making your soap in a relaxed, personal environment, & that you leave the class with a solid, educational foundation that you can build upon.

I hope to meet you soon! Please contact Lindsay with any questions!
