What we’re about
I am offering an exploratory series of 3 sessions to introduce the method of Guided Autobiography (GAB) to people who may be interested in writing about their life but don't know how or where to begin.
GAB is a simple and straightforward method taught using a series of 10 universal themes. Each one is explored separately. Each person is invited to write 2 pages on the theme and share them in a non-judgmental and safe group space during the next session.
Have you wished you could write about your life but find it overwhelming, intimidating or even embarrassing? Can you imagine finding even a handful of pages written by your parents, or their parents or other family members, and would you like to leave your loved ones that gift? Or, would you like to reflect on the past just for yourself? This is a gentle and transformative process that can have surprising benefits.
After the introductory sessions I will form a new group (no more than 6 people per) for a ten session course. If you would like to read more about it, you can go to https://thebirrencenter.org/. If you would like to read a book about it, I recommend "Telling the Stories of Life through Guided Autobiography Groups" by James E. Birren and Kathryn N. Cochran.
