El Encanto neighborhood walk/snacks after 3:30 PM start

Details

Meet in the parking lot of the Chase bank at Country Club and Broadway and we will walk across the street to the El Encanto neighborhood.
With houses built primarily between 1929 and 1963, the formal, curvilinear Neoclassical subdivision plan of midtown El Encanto estates was inspired by the "City Beautiful" movement and represented a deliberate break from the grid-iron development of post-World War I Tucson. A central circular park is notable for its idyllic rendering of a native desert landscape. Formal plantings of palm trees and green lawans enhance the architectural designs in the Spanish Colonial, Mission and Pueblo Reviva styles by locally prominent architechts, including Josias Joessler and Merritt Stackweather.
