Breakfast @Eleven City Diner BEFORE Michigan Ave Hotel Walk (Part 1 of 2)!
Details
Let's do breakfast before my fabulous Michigan Ave Holiday hotel Walk where we check out the best decorated hotels, lobbies and storefronts along the magnificent mile! BRING CASH FOR BREAKFAST BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT DO SEPARATE CHECKS FOR LARGE GROUPS!
Part 1 of 2 BREAKFAST - only 4-6 people per table. No reservations so it will have to be 4-5 small groups (4-6 per table). We may not be able to sit near each other. BRING CASH as they will not do separate checks!
They will not seat us until full party arrives so please do not be late!
If you are joining us for breakfast, then PLEASE BRING CASH AS THEY CANNOT DO SEPARATE CHECKS FOR GROUPS. I kindly ask that everyone take what you ordered (the total dollar amount) & add 32% to that amount, which includes 12% for Chicago taxes and 20% for tip. CASH is easier for big groups when splitting checks.
I am scheduling the Michigan Ave Hotel Lobby Holiday Walk portion AFTER breakfast as a separate event, to make it easier for all & since space is limited. If you want to join for the WALK portion after, then please sign up for that separately at this link below: https://4142298.xyz/exploring-chicago-with-friends/events/304468488/
This is a joint event with the 1001 Things to See in Chicago group, so it is multi-group event!
Simple diner that takes you back an era and has solid food w good portions and taste. Eleven City Diner is an homage to old-school diners and Jewish delicatessens that used to be found throughout Chicago. It is owner Brad Rubin's opinion that every great Chicago neighborhood has a casual family restaurant as one of its cornerstones.
Eleven City Diner lists classic American fare (grilled cheese on challah, patty melts, burgers, mac 'n' cheese, rare roast beef sandwiches; Jewish deli favorites (corned beef, pastrami and salami sandwiches, knish, chopped liver, brisket, matzoh ball soup) plus a soda fountain with Brooklyn egg creams and root beer floats. And breakfast all day from challah French toast and bagels to a corned beef AND pastrami hash bowl. Your Cali friends will go for big salads, quinoa bowls, veggie sandwiches and many things smeared with avocado. There's a kids' menu and nostalgic desserts: banana splits, hot fudge sundaes, carrot, chocolate and cheese cake. The fact that Eleven City serves craft beer, wine, Mimosas and Mary's, cocktails and Intelligentsia coffee, too, makes it just about perfect.

If you are taking public transportation please check website for directions by using Google maps or CTA trip planner. https://www.transitchicago.com/planatrip/
Parking can be tricky in the South Loop area. I would strongly suggest public transportation or use the SpotHero or ParkWhiz app to find lower price parking & safest option. There is some metered parking but limited, mostly garages
