Famous Michigan Avenue Hotel Lobby Holiday Walk (Part 2 of 2)!

It is that time of the year again for my famous Holiday Walk where we check out the best-decorated hotels, lobbies, and storefronts along our convenient downtown route. It is famous! Come for the morning, afternoon, or entire day of festivities. This adventure will include breakfast, snacks, and coffee/tea along the path of our walk. Rumor has it that Santa may provide gifts at one of our stops. Plan to spend as much time as you can give us on this most excellent adventure of the year. We begin at the Hilton Conrad on South Michigan and end at the Radisson Aqua Blue or the Langham Hotel! *This is the SOUTH LOOP route this year & a few new hotels have been added!* Plus we are doing it on a Sunday since we are doing Tuba Christmas on Saturday!

See the schedule below and meet us at the start or along the way. We will be walking between each of these places. Total distance is approximately 2.0 miles for full walk. Wear comfortable shoes for walking and appropriate clothes for walking outdoors in December.

Walk does not end where we start so keep that in mind if you drive. We officially will end at the Radisson Blue Aqua which is 1.2 miles and some of us will finish at The Langham which is 1.7 miles from our start at the Conrad Hilton!

Keep in mind this is a slow leisurely walk with lots of stops for sightseeing, picture taking & general merriment!

I am scheduling the EARLY BREAKFAST before the walk as a separate event, to make it easier for all & to keep better track of my head count. If you want to join for the breakfast portion as well, then please sign up for that separately at this link below:

IF YOU DO NOT JOIN FOR BREAKFAST BEFORE THE WALK, THEN MAKE SURE TO EAT BEFORE AS WE DO NOT STOP FOR LUNCH UNTIL AFTER THE WALK ABOUT 2:30 PM!

This is a joint event with the 1001 Things to See in Chicago group, so it is multi-group event!

We will start the lobby tour at the Conrad Hilton at 10:45 am after breakfast and take it from that point to the following hotel locations:
1. Hilton Conrad 720 S Michigan Ave visit the gigantic gingerbread house
2. The Blackstone Hotel 636 South Michigan Ave - Grand tree in lobby
3. The Congress Plaza Hotel 520 S Michigan Ave - visit the grand tree
4. Palmer House a Hilton Hotel, 17 E Monroe St - visit the grand tree in the magnificent opulent lobby
5. Chicago Athletic Association, 12 S Michigan Ave, - visit Happy's Pop-Up Christmas Bar
6. Cloud Gate, 201 E Randolph St.-visit the Magnificent Tree and skate rink
7. Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E Washington St-visit the tree & see the Tiffany Dome
8. Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park, 200 N Columbus Dr, - visit the Christmas Lodge
9. Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel, Chicago, 221 N Columbus Dr, visit holiday pop up bar
10. The Langham, Chicago, 330 N Wabash Ave visit the luxurious lobby & tree plus see Santa

We will end about 2:30 pm or so at the The Langham hotel for those who make it all the way to the end!

We did this walk last 5 years with the group and it was a blast. The hotel lobbies are gorgeous, the food was delicious and we had lots of laughter along the way! If you are in town with some time to kill, then this is worth braving the elements! Plus, we stop inside many locations to warm up, rest, and take little breaks! SOME NEW HOTELS THIS YEAR!

Parking can be impossible in the South Loop area. I would strongly suggest public transportation or use the SpotHero or ParkWhiz app to find lower price parking

PLEASE NOTE OUR CURRENT NO SHOW POLICY:

1. 3 no-shows without updating your rsvp and you will not be able to sign up for future events for 3 months
2. cut-off time to update your rsvp is the start time of the event. If you miss the start time, then message the event host directly
3. not checking in with the event host to notify them you have arrived (for walks, tours or festivals type of events)
4. continual no shows will result in removal from the group!
