Chez Moi : The Red Balloon & The Aviator's Wife

A most wonderful afternoon in my home showing two deightful films :

The Red Balloon

An enduring enchanting and touching classic fantasy short film made in 1956 - Pascal a young Parisian boy finds a large red helium-filled spherical balloon and learns that it has a mind of its own when it begins to follow him everywhere.......a mesmerising masterpiece.

The Aviator's Wife

Eric Rohmer at his very talky best ! Not terribly much plot but the characterization, attention to detail and sense of period is first class !
A young Parisian student Francois is devastated when he finds out that Anne his girlfriend who is older than him is cheating on him.
In order to find out why she did it he decides to spy on her and her lover and on the way he meets another younger girl in the park......

Films will be shown 3pm to 3.35pm and 4pm to 5.45pm respectively and there shall be some goodies to nosh on.
