The Colour of Lies
Details
Made in 1999 and running at 113 mins is this rare attempt at a love story by Chabrol but is more an anatomy of a marriage and a vehicle to explore the complexity and opacity for human interactions in the wake of a murder as struggling painter Rene and his wife Viviane ( Sandra Bonnaire ) a nurse lead uneventful lives in a small town in Brittany.
The sense if peace is shattered by two events : the murder of a young girl called Eloise right after her weekly drawing lesson with Rene and also the arrival of their neighbour celebrity writer and inveterate womaniser Germain-Roland Desmot.
With english subtitles.
Please book in advance as this performance is in the smaller cinema and take your seat by 6.20pm and look out for others after the film whereupon might decide to have a coffee or drink.
