What we’re about
Faith to Faithless was founded in 2015 to raise awareness of apostasy and support those who are leaving or have left religion. We hold public and private events across the country that consist of lectures, presentations, panel discussions and regular social events for apostates from different faiths.
For many people leaving their religion can be a complicated, challenging, and sometimes dangerous process. Shunning from family, friends, and the religious community is common. Faith to Faithless events are a great way to meet and chat with like-minded people; share ideas, exchange stories, and just socialise. Whether your background was Muslim, Jehovah’s Witness, Jewish, Hindu, Mormon or Evangelical Christian and whether you are gay, lesbian, bi, trans or straight, everyone is welcome.
Faith to Faithless is a programme within Humanists UK, the national charity for the non-religious that has worked to create a tolerant society where rational thinking and kindness prevail since 1896.

See all- Online peer support - leaving religionLink visible for attendees
Every Thursday at 7pm-8pm we offer free online peer support sessions. These are an opportunity to meet with other people who have left high control religious groups and share your experiences and make friends. This is not professional therapy, but these sessions are run by trained facilitators on Zoom.
Our sessions have on average about 10 people in attendance, we have ex Muslims, exVangelicals, ex Jehovah's Witnesses, ex Haredi, ex Mormon and ex other groups. Conversations can be on a wide range of topics to family and whether there is any contact, food and dress, how to make friends since leaving and so on. You don't have to share if you don't feel comfortable but are free to do so. You can attend as often or as little as you like.
It is free of charge, but you do need to register to take part. If you would like to know more, or to arrange your registration chat so that we can start sending you the Zoom links, then please contact Terri at [email protected]
