During the first half of this outing, you’ll learn about and practice emergency debris shelters:
- You’ll learn two types of debris shelters — a-frame and lean-to
- Learn and practice core concepts like framing, lashing, and insulating layers
- Understand how to find the best materials for each shelter component
- Work as a team to get hands-on practice making a shelter
In the second half of this outing, you’ll work with knots, rope, tarps and stakes:
- Learn different tarp configurations and when to use them
- Understand knot and cordage terminology and five essential knots, useful for many situations
- Practice with tips and tricks for quick tarp deployment
You’ll also receive a paracord length and rainproof knot-tying guide to take in your pack to be prepared for your next outing (included in the registration price)!
