Defensive Carbine Immersion

Course Brief: This 2-Day Immersion Special Event picks up where our one day Defensive Carbine curriculum ends in an extended format allowing not only more material to be covered but for more repetition of drills while learning to shoot under stress. Focus will be on Drills and Techniques most commonly accepted for Fighting with a Rifle, as well as some less common techniques that we believe invaluable in an urban fighting environment. Students will develop skills that increase their speed, accuracy and confidence with a carbine. Course include working around vehicles, shooting from improvised positions, transitioning to and from pistol, extreme close contact shooting, introduction to team tactics and more. This class is offered 2-3 times per year in Florida. Space is limited to 12 students. This is NOT a basic course and all students must be up to speed before attending, please see prerequisites.

  Skills and requirements needed coming into this class:
• Must be comfortable with chosen firearm while shooting in a traditional static range environment.
• Must be familiar with basic manipulation and use of chosen firearm
• Must have concealed weapons permit or have completed criminal background check
  Required Prerequisite Courses are:
• Advanced Defensive Handgun Level One AND
• Advanced Defensive Carbine
  OR
• Proof of similar course completion from Louis Awerbuck, Randy Cain, Clint Smith, Pat Rogers, Gunsite, or Tactical Response. FFT reserves the right to refuse training or service.
  Equipment List:
• Your Chosen Magazine Fed (Semi Auto) Rifle with a Stock that has been zeroed. Pistol and Rimfire Calibers and SBRs are acceptable.
• 1000 Rounds Rifle Ammunition (This may be purchased at the range.)
• Tactical Sling, 1 or 2 point or 2-1 convertible
• Minimum of 5 Rifle Magazines (The more the better!)
• Your Chosen Handgun
• 400 Rounds Handgun Ammunition (This may be purchased at the range.)
• A Standard Strong Side Holster for your Chosen Handgun (*Holster Guidelines (http://floridafirearmstraining.com/Handgun.html#Holster_Guidelines))
• Minimum of 3 Handgun Magazines (The more the better!)
• Sturdy Gun Belt and Pants with Belt Loops
• Magazine Pouches to allow carry of 2 Spare Rifle and Handgun Magazines
• Full-wrap Eye and Ear Protection (May be rented from the range.)
• Knee and Elbow Pads
• Weapon Cleaning and Lubrication Equipment
• Pen and Paper

Booking and Cancellation Policy: Full payment will be due to the instructor at the start of class, cash or credit. A credit card is required to guarantee your reservation. This card will not be charged unless you incur one of the following fees:
$25 Administrative Fee for any schedule changes or cancellations (regardless of cause)
$250 Late Cancellation Fee for changes or cancellations made within 7 days of class.
$525 No Show Fee for cancellations received within 72 hours of the class and no shows.

Florida Concealed Weapon or Firearm License Course

This is the required State of Florida certificated basic safety course, that covers firearms safety, on range qualification, individual legal responsibility and Florida law requirements. All documentation including the application etc are supplied. Cost includes instruction, range time, ear & eye protection, State CWP application pack and all class room materials. Please note: This class is for experience shooters who can demonstrate basic handgun knowledge and safety.

If you are not an experienced shooter, please register for the Handgun Intro Class which will also meet the requirements to apply for your Florida concealed weapon permit.

Cost: $65 includes instruction, range fees, target, eye and ear protection, and firearm rental

Handgun Intro Class: 4 Hours

This 4 Hour class is designed to teach the student the basic knowledge and attitudes necessary for selecting owning and using the pistol of their choice safely and effectively. Topics covered include: Safe gun handling, weapon selection, firearm nomenclature and manipulation, ammunition options and applications, storage & maintenance, fundamentals of pistol shooting including, grip options, stance options, sighting fundamentals, trigger control. This course also qualifies the student to apply for the Florida Concealed Weapon or Firearm License.

Maximum Student to Instructor Ratio: 6:1

Maximum Number of Students: 8-12 depending on location
