Kripalu means “being compassionate” in Sanskrit, and compassion for oneself and others lies at the heart of Kripalu Yoga. Kripalu Yoga emphasizes and expands the intuition we all have within to listen to our body, breath and spirit. It cultivates non-judgement awareness and teaches us that our body is unique and special. Practicing Kripalu Yoga and developing this non-judgmental witness consciousness helps your ability to consciously choose how to act on thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Heal your body, mind and spirit and return to your true nature with the practice of Kripalu Yoga, which extends off the mat and into every aspect of your life.

The tradition, named for Swami Kripalu, was brought to the United States by Kripalu’s disciple in the 1960′s. Kripalu yoga is considered “the yoga of life” because the practice integrates the many types of yoga: bhakti, karma, jhana and hatha. Yoga asana (postures), pranayama (breathing), ethics, philosophy, and meditation. Today the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, MA sustains the Kripalu lineage.

Thai Yoga Therapy is an ancient healing art rooted in the practice of metta (loving kindness). Thai Yoga uses energy lines and points in the body that treat a whole range of diseases, relieves muscle and joint pain, frees energetic blockages in the body, stimulates the proper flow of prana (breath) and help restore general well-being. It works the entire body, creating a flowing dance between the giver and the receiver and leaves you feeling relaxed and revitalized. Thai bodywork takes place fully clothed and a session generally lasts 90 minutes, although variations are available to suit the individual’s needs.
