What we’re about
A Rochester area-based club devoted to making table-top gamers, new and old, aware of other systems besides Dungeons & Dragons and other similar systems like Pathfinder. If you’re a fan of older, established games (such as World of Darkness, Traveller or Warhammer) or newer,small-publisher games (such as Pirate Borg, Troika or We Deal in Lead), this is the club for you. If you’re new to the hobby, and would like to see what else is out there besides Dungeons & Dragons, this is also the club for you. My intention is to attract GMs and players who are eager to try out something new.
I’ve been involved in Meetup for some time, and realize it has some inherent flaws. One of the biggest is inactive members. I intend to try to monitor this to avoid group bloat, where the group has a large number of members, with only a handful active. Initially, my plan is to delete inactive members after six months. The other is members RSVPing for events and just not showing up without taking the time to cancel their RSVP. While I realize that life happens, please try to not make a habit of it. Nothing is worse than a GM planning for a certain number of players, than half of them just not showing up. Right now, for my own games, I am going to be using a three strikes and you’re out policy. If you sign up for my game, and miss three sessions without canceling your RSVP and/or communicating that you can’t make it, you won’t be allowed back in my game.
