Root

We'll play a game of Root (https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/237182/root) with some expansions.

Game complexity warning: asymmetric gameplay and complex rules. Prefer another session if you have not tried advanced board games before. Do not let the cutesy game art fool you (although it sure is lovely), this is not an easy game to learn or play. I strongly recommend having a look at how it plays to be sure you'd enjoy that type of game. All players oppose each other, and all have their own set of mechanics, so you cannot even learn by watching what the others are doing.

We'll choose what to do about the Vagabond faction(s) together. We're likely to use the "despot infamy" + "Quest Freshener" house rules (basically a nerf to infamy, and a boost to quests).

As usual, all the rules will be explained at the start of the session. We welcome new players. Any actions performed by mistake can simply be reverted, unless it led to something being revealed by another player.

• This meetup is for people who want to play board games in English.
• While the primary intent is to provide an occasion to practice English while having fun, native speakers are also welcome.
• Players are not expected to be familiar with the game being played.
• English level B2 or above required.
• Sessions are in English only.
• Blastodice has a 2 Euros participation fee for access to the games.

If you previously thought you would attend a session but changed your mind, it's okay, but please change your status on the session's invitation list accordingly as soon as possible: spots are limited and you might be needlessly preventing others from attending.
