Frederick Travel Meetup

Hi Everyone,

Our next lunch meeting will be Sunday 11/17 at Capital Crave at 2:00pm on Frederick Route 40 next to the VFW and across the street from the Popeye’s on Route 40 (Golden Mile). The meeting will be until 4:00pm, so if you arrive late that is fine.

We will talk about our 2025 trips and sign-ups for these trips will be available. The 2025 trips are:

• New Orleans Jazz Festival April 2025
• Scandinavia trip in June 2025

We will talk about a trip for fall 2025 and the trips for 2026. One of the 2026 trips has been finalized, guided tour trip of Croatia and Slovenia. The other trip ideas for 2026 are a trip to Peru; European River cruise; trip to the Grand Canyon and southwest US; and trip to Costa Rica

Join the Frederick Travel Group on a 7 night south Caribbean cruise on Royal Caribbean Rhapsody of the Seas sailing out of San Juan, Puerto Rico on 2/9/25 - 2/16/25.

The Frederick Travel Group is going to the Jazz Festival in New Orleans from 4/30/25 - 5/4/25. The Jazz Festival is one of the biggest events in New Orleans with many concert events and venues to choose from. Each year the New Orleans Jazz Festival showcases some of the biggest names in music.

The group will be staying at Crowne Plaza New Orleans French Quarter located on 739 Canal Street in the heart of the French Quarter. The pricing is a group rate discount just for the Frederick Travel Group. You do not need to make a reservation for your stay. The reservations will be done by rooming list that I will send to the hotels. If you make the reservation on your own you will be paying a higher rate.

The hotel stay cost is as follows 4/30/25 and 5/1/25 the hotel cost is $149 per night plus tax; and 5/2/25 and 5/3/25 the hotel cost is $269 per night plus tax. If you stay all four nights, the hotel stay will be a total of $836 plus tax (average of $209 per night plus tax).

Flights will be booked separately, and we will talk about the best flights at our meetings. And I will keep the group updated on ticker prices for the various concerts at the Jazz Festival.

Join us as we go on a 12 day tour of Scandinavia (Denmark, Sweden and Norway) from 6/13/25 - 6/24/25! The Scandinavia trip begins with a two-night stay in Copenhagen, Denmark and ends with two-nights in Stockholm, Sweden. Some of the cities and sites that we will see are Oslo Bergen, Lillehammer, and the beautiful coastal scenery of Sognefjord Norway and Orebro and Stockholm, Sweden!

The cost for tour is $2,550 per person at double occupancy (not including airfare and gratuities). The deposit to hold your reservation is $200 per person. The estimated cost for the gratuity is $125 per person. The single supplement rate (for those that want their own room) is an additional $1,130 making the single rate $3,680.

The cost of the trip does includes four dinners and eleven breakfasts; comfortable bus transportation; all lodging and taxes; expert tour director and bus driver; entrance fees to all sites except on the optional excursions.

If we get 9 people or more there is a 5% group discount off the price of the trip; and if you are a past guest with Trafalgar, Brendan Vacations or CostSaver you will receive an additional 5% past guest discount.
