Join us for an enriching 12-14 mile circular hike, starting and ending at Guildford Railway Station. Meet at 10:30 am outside the station, and get ready to explore a blend of scenic landscapes and historic sites that make this area so captivating.
Trail Highlights:
- High Ball: A scenic high point offering panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, giving a perfect introduction to the natural beauty of the Guildford area.
- St. Martha's Hill: This iconic hilltop is home to the charming St. Martha’s Church, which dates back to the 12th century. Nestled on the Pilgrims’ Way, it offers breathtaking views across the Surrey Hills and beyond.
- Newland's Corner: Newlands Corner is a breathtaking viewpoint in the Surrey Hills, offering panoramic views over the Surrey countryside. Known for its natural beauty and rich wildlife, it’s also part of the historic Pilgrims’ Way. This spot was famously linked to Agatha Christie’s brief disappearance in 1926, adding a touch of mystery to its charm.
- Pillbox: This WWII-era structure stands as a reminder of England’s defensive past. We’ll pause here to appreciate the history and take in the surrounding woodland.
- St. Catherine’s Lock: Part of the historic Wey Navigation, this lock and its picturesque surroundings tell the story of 17th-century trade and transportation along the River Wey.

- End of Walk Pub Visit: We’ll wrap up at a cozy pub near the station to unwind and relax.
