A hiking meetup created to provide free walks in the countryside. Hikes are an opportunity to meet likeminded people and visit beautiful and historic sites. The group motto is "Solvitur ambulando" a Latin phrase which means "it is solved by walking".

To cover the Meetup Organizer Subscription Fees, we've implemented an active membership model: £3 per member annually. Membership in the group is complimentary, and attending walks will continue to be free of charge. However, an annual membership fee is required to fund the Meetup Organizer Subscription Fees. You can pay cash on the day or via bank transfer.

You should be capable of walking at a reasonable pace, at least 2.5 miles per hour. The meetup ethos is inclusive and attendees should respect that not all hikers will walk at exactly the same pace.

All you need to pay for is your train or transport costs, food and equipment etc. If you are completing many journeys you might want to consider purchasing a Network Railcard. Details are available at the following link:
