Friends Forest Tour - Sunset Hike #1 - Meacham Grove

Come join us for our first Sunset Hike!! After seeing the hill we could walk on at Meacham Grove a few months ago; I decided to use this spot for two sunset hikes over the next 6 months!

For this hike I suggest getting there around 4pm, that will give us enough time to get up to the hilltop to catch the views.

Please note these sunset hikes are on a friday afternoon/evening.

On Friday December 20th; the sun will set at 4:24pm.

On Friday June 20th 2025; the sun will set at 8:31pm.

As a way to enjoy the summer and winter solstices I thought it would be neat to see the same sunset at two different points in the year.

This two hikes will be additional hikes in the months of December and June for our group looking ahead. I decided to go with a weekday for these hikes to give more options for those unable to make our monthly hikes on Saturday.

If you know of a great sunset location in DuPage County Preserves that you want to share with the group; please let me know, and we can add that to a future sunset hike! I would like to find one for March and September to round out various touch points of sunset times in our region
