What we’re about
Friends of Coal Creek exists to support the beauty of the creek. Our primary work is the restoration and improvement of underused land within the creek corridor. We do this by working with private landowners and municipalities to plant pollinator gardens, restore native species to weedy areas, remove invasive plants and clean up trash. We believe these actions will increase the enjoyment and advocacy of the corridor, improve property values for adjacent homeowners, generate goodwill at commercial properties and reboot the shortgrass prairie ecosystem that has existed here for 30,000 years and support pollinators and wildlife that are native to our area.
