What we’re about

We look after and seek to enhance the waterways that run from the Thames at Cookham, through Maidenhead town centre and back into the Thames at Bray. These waterways were drainage ditches and channels which we have restored to vibrant living waterways. The waterway supports biodiversity and wildlife and can be paddled in kayaks and canoes.

Our work is done by volunteers. In autumn and winter we clear blockages from the ditches and streams in Cookham to keep the water flowing. Through the year we do maintenance, repairs and litter picks. We are also working with partners to enhance biodiversity along the waterway.

This summer we will be organising activities on York Stream to encourage people to get on the water in a canoe or kayak.
