This month we'll be welcoming:
Charles Boisvert - Visual Functional programming
Software development is one of the most difficult tasks we engage in with a computer. Tools, like languages or editors, can help us do this better: with the right systems, some programming has even been made accessible to children. I will present tools to make functional programming, which is often used to process data, more readily accessible to non-experts by developing and reading programs visually, then explain some of their limitations and work to overcome them.

Glenn Mailer - Playwright: Yet another browser testing tool?
In the last few years Microsoft’s free browser testing tool has been rapidly growing market share and features. We’ve recently migrated all of our end-to-end tests at work to it, and been very happy with it.
I’ll walk you through how it works, why it’s good, and show you what some of our tests are like.

Post-meetup social
After the talks we'll head to socialise at the nearby Triple Point Brewery + Bar. They serve a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, plus food from Twisted Burger Co. See https://triplepointbrewing.co.uk/ for more details. One of our volunteers will show you the way.
