What we’re about
Hi 👋 and welcome to Fronteers BE.
We are a community for people with an interest in front-end development and we host casual meetups in Ghent. Occiasionally also in Antwerp and Kortrijk.
We cover anything front-end related and closely adjacent, as well as topics that are relevant to any developer. (f.e. sustainability, work-life balance, team collaboration,...)
Technology-wise that means: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, accessibility, frameworks, optimisation, CSS preprocessors, alternatives, testing tools,... you name it!
We're currently looking for event locations and guest speakers for 2024:

Modern browsers have gotten really capable as platforms for vanilla web development. How much mileage can we get out of skipping all tooling and using the browser itself as a web framework? What are the alternatives to common framework features like routing, templating, components and reactive state? Let's take a walk down web standards lane and discover what is there, and what is still missing.About Joeri

He is presently working for the city of Antwerp as strategic IT architect, and in his spare time he shares what he learns about no-tools web development on plainvanillaweb.comTalk2: TBA
