Details

Western Gate Chapter of the Florida Trail Association regularly schedules trail work on the Florida National Scenic Trail and Florida Trail in Escambia and Santa Rosa County, FL. each Thursday. Anyone who enjoys working outdoors is invited to participate. No experience is necessary and volunteers will only be asked to do tasks they are comfortable with. You should wear sturdy work clothes and boots/shoes. Work gloves, along with other safety gear, will be provided, or you can bring your own if desired. You should also bring plenty of water, snacks if desired, and other items appropriate for the day and season, including sun screen, insect repellant, and rain gear. Tools will be provided. All volunteers should read the Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) for Trail Maintenance on the FTA web site (https://floridatrail.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/FTA-2018-JHA.pdf).

Check your email right before you leave home in case there is a change or cancellation. If you RSVP "Yes" and can't make it for any reason, please change your RSVP to "No" or leave a comment on this page.
