What we’re about
This drum circle started in May of 2013 and has been growing ever since .. Due to popular demand we have two meetings a month, every 2nd and 4th Sat at East Cobb Park off Roswell Rd. in Marietta, 1/4 mile N. of the QT station corner Roswell/Canton Rd.
I initially started this DC as a local alternative (and in addition) to the Land Trust DC in L5P which has been around for a very long time. We've recently changed our schedule to accommodate our members who also like to attend the Land Trust DC .
We meet in the Gazebo overlooking the park off the upper parking lot. This is a community drum circle for people interested in easy drumming and feeling the rhythm / spirit of the drum. Dancers, performers and kindred spirits are always welcome !
All percussion - and related instruments are welcome. We've had didjeridoos, udu's and other instruments in our group .. We are very international with members from many Nations bringing in local flavor and rhythms from around the world.
We start Sat at 6pm (Nov - Apr) and 7pm (May-Oct), every 2nd and 4th Saturday (weather permitting)(we won't schedule if it is really raining hard / snowing or under 45F ..for the hardy souls ..) so please check our site or call me for update/ info.
It's a good idea to bring a citronella candle in the summertime (skeeters are hungry) but we always have several fire torches burning at night to scare the buggers away and add a nice 'fire pit' feeling to the gazebo ..
We're kindly asking for a donation of $ 3.00 per person or $ 5.00 per family to cover the costs for advertising/ meetup fees, torch fuel, printing etc. and have a donation box in the gazebo.
Supporting membership is optional (and greatly appreciated) at $ 36.00 per year per person/ $ 50.00 per family.
