We are here to play tennis, have fun and build a community atmosphere that is friendly, respectful, and social for all!

GREETINGS: Organizers from the group will alternate to host the meet. Players' levels vary from beginners to 3.5. We will ask for players' levels directly and will do our best to match players at the same level. Most can usually find someone to play with at our level and above. COURTESY: Please be polite towards other players. Harassment of any form is not allowed. This is a social tennis group, not a competitive cohort. We try our best to identify players at the same level. When we intervene to place players in different groups, please know we try to enable all groups to play with good intentions. If more advanced players are in a group with beginners, be ready to offer kind suggestions and tips. Be nice and a joy to be around!

COURTS: Park Road Park has a total of 12 tennis courts, many or all of which could be reserved for tournaments from time to time. We'd move to another court if all courts are reserved for the weekend. These free courts are FIRST-COME-FIRST-SERVED (not guaranteed at all). Hosts typically get there 15 minutes before start time to secure courts. They can get busy. If you get there early, please help us secure as many courts as possible and negotiate to play doubles with other players.

PARKING: The address is "6215 Park Rd, Charlotte, NC 28210". You can also click on the Google Map on this page and follow the directions from there. If you drive down from north to south on Park Rd, the tennis courts would be on the left-hand side (East).

LOGISTICS: Players are encouraged to bring their own racquet, a bottle of water, and tennis balls if you have any. This group provides additional tennis balls as backups. There is a public bathroom conveniently located next to the tennis courts for changing clothes etc. The latest we'll cancel an event (usually due to weather) will be an hour prior to the start time.

WAITLIST & NO SHOW: Please register ahead of time in order to attend this event. If you can't make it, kindly change your RSVP 3 - 24 hours prior (by 12PM on Sunday) so others on the "Waitlist" can join. Canceling 1-2 hours prior to a meet gives waitlisted players too little time to plan their day, although we understand sometimes things do come up at the last minute. “No show” (i.e. RSVP to an event without showing up) will be recorded and will lower a player’s chances to sign up for future events. We try our best to encourage sportsmanship as well as responsibility and care for fellow players.

SOCIAL: From time to time, we organize post-tennis socials for players to participate safely. Sometimes due to weather or health concerns, we may not be able to do so. If there are socials, we'll announce the location ahead of time or on the court. You are welcome to join us for a drink or dish at a brewery, bar or restaurant friendly to sporting groups within 5 minutes' drive (usually in the South Park/Monford/Park Road area). Out of concern for health and safety for everyone, please be vaccinated before joining the social. Thanks for your understanding and support.
