SCO Benedetti plays Brahms- Usher Hall

Details

I have booked some shows/concerts for next year that have sold out already- shows that I have not put on as events here. This concert is selling fast despite the fact that its not on until next May so if you want to see this talented Scottish violinist, Nicola Benedetti, play Brahms then better to book now. I just love listening to the violin.

I've been to many classical concerts at the Usher Hall and it a nice venue, is centrally located and has a bar. If you haven't been before then try something new. Life is to be enjoyed.

I have booked seat Y35 in the stalls and there are seats still available in that row if you want to sit together. Prices start from £15-£41 (£21 for the row I am in). Please only RSVP after you have booked your ticket.

We can meet at 6.30pm at the box office at the Usher hall and go for a drink/chat before the concert starts at 7.30pm. Please remember to bring your £1 towards site fee. All warmly welcomed. Hope to see you there.

Nicola Benedetti is the Festival Director of the Edinburgh International Festival. I think she has done a great job and has made events more accessible to young people and those on a low income which is to be applauded.

Details of the concert:

BRAHMS Violin Concerto
MENDELSSOHN Symphony No 3 ‘Scottish’
Maxim Emelyanychev Conductor
Nicola Benedetti Violin

Scotland’s most esteemed violinist – the peerless Nicola Benedetti – joins SCO Principal Conductor Maxim Emelyanychev for an end-of-Season celebration full of romance and adventure.

Conceived on a grand scale, Brahms’ mighty Violin Concerto deals in profound emotions and surging drama, but it’s also a captivating dialogue between violin and orchestra – just the thing to showcase Benedetti and Emelyanychev’s illuminating musical partnership.

To close the Season, classical music’s greatest tribute to our nation: Mendelssohn takes us from the atmospheric ruins of Holyrood Chapel to the clashing clans of Highland battlefields in his swashbuckling ‘Scottish’ Symphony.
