Tour Meadow Brook Hall and/or the Griffin Claw Clubhouse in Rochester Hills

Hi everyone,

Please join me for the "Holiday Walk" at Meadow Brook Hall, the famous mansion of Matilda Dodge Wilson, John Dodge's widow, and lumber broker Alfred Wilson. Their website described the walk as, "a self-guided indoor tour featuring incomparable holiday sights and decorations inside our 110-room estate, featuring more than 50 magnificent trees, flickering fireplaces and lights galore." The estate is also described as, "Standing at a grand 88,000 square feet and surrounding lush estate, Meadow Brook is an architectural marvel. The Great Estate is lovingly preserved and boasts a collection of more than 75,000 historic artifacts, including original paintings, sculptures, prints, furniture, carpets, ceramics, silver, costumes and textiles and even Tiffany art glass. With that, Meadow Brook Hall tours truly take visitors on a journey through time, as they learn about this National Historic Landmark and the people who lived and worked here in the 20th century." You can also see the ballroom where the unknown Frank Sinatra sang for Frances Dodge on her 25th birthday. There are many more interesting stories to be learned there.

There is no limit to the number of attendees for our group but you have to buy a tour ticket to get in (https://meadowbrookhall.org/events/santa-saturdays/). I purchased my ticket ($23.50 for adults and $18.50 for veterans and active military) for the December 7 11:30 AM tour. Once you buy your ticket please RSVP to let me know to wait for you. Please get to the lobby by 11:15 so we can meet each other before the tour starts.

The tour is self paced and can be completed in as little as an hour. I propose afterward, for those interested, to meet at the Griffin Claw Clubhouse, getting to know each other further and grabbing lunch. It is less than 10 minutes (~3.5 miles) away. If you are not able to get tickets or only want to do the lunch, when you RSVP, please send me a note stating so and I will know not to wait for you for the Tour. Please get to the Griffin Claw by 1 PM.
