All about Owls: Nature Journaling at the Bozeman Senior Center

Details

Calling all nature lovers, journalers, and curiosity seekers. Improve your memory, connect and learn about nature, and feed your creative side - no experience or art skills necessary. Join naturalist and educator Christy Howard from the Gallatin Nature Society and the amazing Montana Raptor Conservation Center as we learn about and nature journal the amazing Great Horned Owl, Bu, and another raptor this December. Then join us as we take apart owl pellets, learn to draw owls, and more.

Artist and educator John Muir Laws states it simply, "Nature journaling is collecting and organizing your observations, questions, connections, and explanations on the pages of a notebook using words, pictures, and numbers. You do not need to be an artist or a naturalist to begin. These skills can be learned by anyone, and you can develop them with deliberate practice. Start now: you can do this, and the world is waiting." Whether you seek creative inspiration, want to enhance your observational skills, participate in citizen science, or crave a mindful journey through the natural world, this course offers friendly art instruction and engaging practice sessions. No artistic talent required—just a love for nature and keen observation.
