A free game development focussed meet up and game jam enthustiast's club.
Monthly meetups on the first Tuesday each month to playtest, meet game maker folks of all disciplines, learn about various game dev topics from experts, and practice your talks.
Code of Conduct
1. Be respectful towards one another; we are here to have fun, exchange ideas, meet new people. Treat each other with the dignity we all deserve.
2. In the interests of running a safe event for everyone, you agree that organisers researve the right to eject any attendee from the event at the organisers discretion. This may occur with or without warning.
3. If any attendee or non-attendee at the event is making you feel uncomfortable, unsafe, or unwelcome, please bring this issue to the attention of the organiser(s). You can do so in-person, message through Meetup, or Direct Message on Discord.
Background
Started by Darren Kearney back in 2016 as a facebook group following the onegameamonth.com prompts, inspired by 1GAM Dublin. Our meetups have been taking place each month ever since, on the first Tuesday of the month. When onegameamonth.com ceased, we continued with the name for until 2023, when the group adopted the current name "Galway Game Makers Meetup".
We are currently running in-person events, switching between CREW and PorterShed venues each month, which is a great way to get acquainted with the local innovation hubs and communities. Do check the venue on the event.
