Have you discovered "The Trailhead Store" at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens? The last time I scheduled an event here, Hurricane Helene came through and the event was cancelled. I checked and the weather looks fine for Friday. It might be a little cool, but we can warm up with coffee or tea inside "The Trailhead Store."

Let's plan to meet inside the store and select our beverages and snacks. There is seating on the porch, upstairs, and even outside if it's not too cool. We might also walk a bit on the trails...which can be accessed from "The Trailhead Store" without having to pay admission to the botanical gardens.

Here's another interesting book club! "The River Room" in McAdenville hosts a "silent book club" once a month, on the 3rd Sunday of the month. No assigned reading, no homework, and no small talk required...just some fun reading time. Let's check it out!

The group gathers at 2:00 pm for introductions. Everyone has their own personal reading material. The members find their own space to read then gather again for drinks and socializing. It sounds like a lot of fun...and, as always, supports a local venue.

If you are not familiar, "The River Room" is the taproom and event space of the Catawba Riverkeepers organization. The venue has a lovely outdoor space overlooking the water...and they have a TURTLE inside the building!!! All of their craft beers are from breweries in the Catawba-Wateree River Basin...so you know it's local. There is also a nicely curated wine list and cocktails.

There is no limit on attendance, but please keep up with your RSVP so we will know to look for you. It will be great fun participating in an event being planned by another group...plus meeting new friends who like to read.

PLEASE NOTE DATE CHANGE...In order not to conflict with Thanksgiving, "Craft Night" at Ride-A-Bike will happen one week early!

You are invited to bring whatever your current crafty project is...knitting, crochet, beadwork, cross stitch, sticker art, collage...anything YOU WANT to work on while you hang out with fun people!!! Everyone is welcome.

The bike shop is spacious and there are couches for comfortable seating. Feel free to bring a snack and a beverage for yourself...or to share.

Check out the most interesting book club in Gastonia! We choose a book topic instead of one particular book. No pressure...just good friends sharing good books! Then join us for some lively discussion and the chance to meet new friends who share a love of reading.

The topic for November is "native Americans."
The topic for December is "The 12 Days of Christmas."

Check out the stack of books in the event photo. These are some of the books that members shared in the October meeting. The topic was "creatures." Some of the "creatures" were horses, witches, a goat, and an octopus!
