Welcome to Geekocracy: the best Meetup group for fun events with your fellow geeks and gamers! The goal of this group is to coordinate fun and inclusive social events — like happy hours, game nights, movie premieres, etc. — to get out from behind our TV screens and make new friends. Geek culture is taking over the world and we're going to be in the middle of it! If anyone has recommendations or would like to help with organizing events, reach out to me or one of our event organizers.
GROUP POLICIES (PLEASE READ)
No-shows: The participation of our members is what makes Geekocracy fun, and it’s important for us to have an accurate headcount. Please arrive promptly to events or let the host know if you are delayed. If you do not plan to come, CHANGE YOUR RSVP TO "NO" before the event or contact the host. If you do not, you will be marked "no-show." Repeat offenders will receive a warning and may be removed without further notice.
Behavior: Harassing, annoying, and poor behavior is grounds for removal. Please be respectful of your fellow geeks!

Let's enjoy board games and/or other party games at Potion Portal (formerly Vortex) in St. Pete. I will bring a few games and Potion Portal should have some available on their shelves, but feel free to bring some as well.
The bar selection includes craft beers, drafts, wine, soda, and coffee.

This theme weekend is Highland Fling. Witness feats of strength and endurance in this clash of clans! Kick back in your kilt or join in the games of caber toss, tug of war, & corn hole. Cosplay is very much encouraged!

What to bring: It is usually pretty warm out, so I recommend bringing drinking water (a sealed 20 oz. water bottle is allowed, but they didn't say anything last year when I brought in my reusable one), a fan, sunscreen. You can bring along one pet for $10 if you register them and supply vaccination records.
