Book Club: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Details
This month we're reading the sci-fi comedy classic "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams. Reading the book is encouraged but not required as long as you don't mind spoilers.
Here's a summary of the book:
Seconds before the Earth is demolished to make way for a galactic freeway, Arthur Dent is plucked off the planet by his friend Ford Prefect, a researcher for the revised edition of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy who, for the last fifteen years, has been posing as an out-of-work actor. Together they journey through the galaxy with a cast of other memorable characters — the two-headed, three-armed ex-president of the galaxy, a chronically depressed robot, and the girl Arthur totally blew it with — in a search for answers: Why are we born? Why do we die? Why do we spend so much time between wearing digital watches? For all the answers stick your thumb to the stars. And don't forget to bring a towel!
The venue: We will meet at Joe's New York Diner in Tampa. This is a smaller venue so please make sure your RSVP is up to date! No no-shows!
