What we’re about

Hi all!
It's an English-friendly LARP group in Ghent!
If you're interested in LARP, DnD, cosplay, historical fighting, fantasy and other geek culture, please join us!
The idea is to create a club that meets up regularly for LARPing and other activities.
In plans we have:
* organizing a city LARP in Ghent,
* sword-fighting training,
* archery training,
* DnD sessions,
* tribal workshops,
and whatever else comes to your mind!
Your ideas are very welcome!

I'm also currently working on a city LARP inspired by Harry Potter Universe! What is a city LARP, you ask? It's when you live your normal life but also participate in game events in real life that can be organized anywhere in the city. Essentially, you're always in the game, living two lives simultaneously! Of course, the game is organized in such a way that it doesn't interfere with your job, family, or studies; you participate in your free time. Let me tell you a bit more about this game.

The concept is that the Wizarding University not only serves as a school for children aged 11 to 17/18 but also as a university for apprentices who wish to develop their magical skills and grow as wizards. There are different Grades of Magic (Levels of Magic), and to advance, for example, from Grade 1 to Grade 2, magicians need to complete the tasks of each magical discipline of Grade 1 (Herbology, Transfiguration, Potions), and so on. For the most part of the game, you'll receive tasks from the Headmaster or Professors, which you'll accomplish during your free time, without any time limit.

But here's the twist - the tasks should be completed in groups of three, which leads to real role-playing activities. These groups will be organized by the Headmaster and professors to ensure that you play with everyone and don't choose the same partners. The tasks can include collecting ingredients and brewing potions, performing magic rituals and sending pictures of them to our Discord Group as proof, etc.

The significant aspect - all role-playing activities should be done in costumes (your school uniform). If Muggles see you, just claim that you're cosplayers! Don't reveal that you're actual wizards! Every month, we'll organize a group event where all players should participate. On this day, we'll role-play together for the entire day, discussing studies, completing personal quests, and simply enjoying Hogwarts life!

Example events include lessons of Runology/Magical History/Tarot and other magical disciplines in Hogwarts Library (Ghent's Library), gatherings in Hogsmeade Village (city center and the assigned bar), Herbology field trips, and Quidditch games at School Grounds (Bourgoyen-Ossemeersen), among many others.

Other important features of this Wizarding World include:

You can choose an unusual race; all are welcome in this university-level Hogwarts. Depending on your race, you'll have certain advantages/disadvantages.
You'll receive a personal quest based on the character story you create yourself, but I'm willing to help if needed!
By completing tasks, you'll earn points for your House.
By completing personal tasks, you can receive magical artifacts or even advance a Grade!

The game will be conducted entirely in English.
The game is free, but it will require purchasing or making a costume and a lot of dedication!
Let me know if you want to play! ^^
