## Details

A few of us from my Exploring Music group are attending the RSNO concert on 4th October at the Usher Hall 7.30pm
### Mahler’s Resurrection Symphony starts with tragedy and ends with a world reborn. Imagine heaven and hell, joy and terror, Viennese waltzes and distant trumpets. It’s the musical experience of a lifetime – and beyond… Join us for the spectacular opening to our Concert Season and experience a super-sized RSNO and the massed voices of the RSNO Chorus perform some of the most heart-lifting music ever composed, under the direction of Music Director Thomas Søndergård.
This is a monumental symphony. Get a taste of it performed by Leonard Bernstein with the London Symphony Orchestra in Ely Cathedral in 1973.

The plan is to meet in the gallery of the upper tier at 7pm for a chat and perhaps go for a drink to the Traverse Bar after.
##### Folk to get their own tickets.
I'm in A13 Upper Tier.
Hope you can join us for what promises to be a memorable concert.
I can be recognised by my distinctive nepalese hat!

The first half theme will be New Orleans Jazz music from the 1920s, so expect Scott Joplin, Jelly Roll Morton, Louis Armstrong and his Hot Fives and Sevens and Bessie Smith. illustrated with videos and vinyl.
The second half will be live music on the Steinway from myself and invited guests Including Beethoven, Liszt and an Impressionist Magical Mystery Tour!
